Narara fills a green valley just north of Gosford, and it still carries the feel of the orchards it grew from. The blocks are generous, the ridge lines are bush, and Strickland State Forest closes off the western side with rainforest walking tracks.
For its size the suburb is unusually self-contained. It has two train stations, its own public primary and high school, the St Philip’s Christian College campus, and the Narara Ecovillage on the old horticultural research site, which has quietly made the valley a name in sustainable living circles.
